Floating Caliper Brake

Type EBS FL

Spring-applied closing, hydraulically released opening

Floating caliper brakes are efficient braking systems commonly used in commercial vehicles and heavy machinery. These brakes operate on the principle of “spring-applied closing,” which means that the brake pads are automatically pushed into the closed position by spring force to ensure reliable braking action. The opening of the brakes occurs, on the other hand, “hydraulically released,” where a hydraulic system is used to retract the brake pads and release the wheel. Thanks to this design, floating caliper brakes offer an excellent combination of safety and efficiency.
