ATEK brake systems in mining are designed to control the deceleration of rotating masses, precisely regulate movements, and safely hold and lock system conditions when stationary. This creates defined, reproducible conditions for operation and maintenance, increases safety when working on drums, gearboxes, couplings, and rope systems, and supports clear workflows during normal operation, emergency stop, and service. Depending on the system concept, the system can be configured modularly and may consist of service / operation brakes, safety / emergency brakes, and holding and locking functions. Typically, the system is complemented by a hydraulic or electro-hydraulic unit as well as a freely configurable control and monitoring system. This allows for both economical standard variants and complex premium versions to be realized – tailored to load cases, installation space, safety concepts, and process flows underground and above ground.
ATEK Drive Solutions supports you from design and calculation to full documentation and acceptance of your braking system. On request, we carry out functional and load tests as well as acceptances according to your project specifications. FATs can be conducted directly at our facility to reduce project risks before installation and make commissioning more predictable.
Various integration and service options are possible in the execution, such as robust brake disc / caliper concepts, corrosion-resistant materials, protected conduits, monitoring functions for braking torque, pad condition, and switching conditions, as well as interfaces to control technology.
